Hi and welcome to another month at the Sanctuary. 

There are so many exciting things happening at the Sanctuary this month that it is hard to know where to begin.  Firstly, in a couple of weeks time we are about to launch Australia's first Tantra Forum which will be known as "The Tantra Lounge".  This will be accessed by members only for a small fee.  The lounge has been designed not only as a chat room on all topics in the field of Tantra and Sexuality but also incorporates a 'meeting place' and or 'dating site' to meet like minded people on a similar path.  There will also be discounts off all Tantra Massages, Workshops and Sessions as well as monthly video downloads on the practices of Tantra.  The lounge will be accessible through the home page of the Sanctuary and an introductory email will be generated at the launch of this exciting event.  I would like to say a huge thank you to Claire, my web builder from Zeta Tech for her amazing talents and hard work building this fabulous forum and to my dear and beautiful friend Alice Chai who will be the Tantra Lounge's Official Moderator.

The Tantra for Couples DVD is just about at the final completition stage with the last day of filming scheduled for the 6^th September to include the remaining shots of the magnificient Quiet Cone in Parkerville.  The DVD will be launched worldwide and will be available online at the Sanctuary, Amazon and all major holistic health shops in Perth.  Once again an official email announcement will be generated at the launch of the DVD in late September.

In other news, I am excited to be promoting a brand new workshop, the first of it's kind in Perth called "Do you know what women really want".  This workshop is for men only and is facilitated by myself and Dyane Hart, a beautiful Tantra Goddess that has been training with me for quite some time now.  This workshop is unique in the fact that the workshop contents have been compiled from case studies taken from 1012 private and confidential men's sessions that I have taught over the years.  It also incorporates data from numerous women's private sessions as well as women's workshops to deliver a powerful, and thought provoking workshop for men to truly learn skills and techniques to intergrate their healthy masculine and become an extraordinary lover.

ABOUT DYANE

"I have been a practicing Holistic Practitioner in the world of Metaphysics, Quantumphysics, Quantum Mechanics, Energy Medicine, Healing, Counseling and Massage for many years.  As a young child people were always drawn to me who needed guidance or healing in one form or another.

Even though I have had many years of training my biggest gift I was born with was the love and passion I have for people. To be able to clear the clutter from people’s lives and then watch them grow from strength to strength with a clear knowing of who they are and what is now possible in their life, is not only an amazing transformation but also a privilege for me to be a part of.

This is where the love of Tantra comes in for me.  I met Cathy some time ago and after just one conversation with her I knew that she was the perfect teacher for me.  Her passion for her work and the love she has for people was outstanding, combine this with her truly extended knowledge of her craft and her experience in the world of Tantra made it easy to choose Cathy as my teacher.

What Tantra has given me is a deeper level of connection not only to myself but also to another human being.  To be able to be present and connected on such an intimate and sacred level goes beyond what I have ever experienced before.  Tantra can and will shift your level of consciousness in so many ways, infiltrating and balancing the fullness of your being". 

Also another new workshop not to be missed is the 'Mother Daughter Workshop' facilitated by myself and Susan.  This is one of the most amazing workshops that we have created and I feel very strongly represents the spirit of the Sacred Feminine.  This workshop celebrates the bond between not only mothers and daughters but aunts, sisters and girlfriends exploring the sacred rites to womanhood through the ancient practices of Tantra for women.

Feng Shui Consultant and Interior Decorator

It has been argued that the most successful businesses have grown from those passionate about what they do.

One passionate woman, Michele Castle, has recently developed her own business, Energize Life Feng Shui that combines elements of Feng Shui and interior design in order to promote wellbeing and balance for her clients within their homes.

Michele stumbled upon the five thousand year old art after having her house analysed by a Feng Shui consultant. She later found that Feng Shui accompanied her original occupation of an interior decorator nicely.

She began to study the art under Feng Shui masters such as Master Raymond Lo and Master Joe Yap.
Practicing in her own home and the homes of friends,
Michele experienced and learnt the benefits of Feng Shui. She also noticed a huge improvement in her family dynamics and experienced increased amounts of luck.

"I started out as an interior decorator and then I actually just stumbled into Feng Shui because it was my interest.

"So, my interests and passions really are houses, so from doing interior design for my own houses to friends asking me to do things for their houses, I basically went into Feng Shui and it has just grown from there," she says.

Michele basks in the freedom of her business that allows her to combine her passions and interests. She is appreciative of people who utilise her services of design and Feng Shui, as it is often a very personal experience.

"I'm very grateful when somebody asks me to do their house. I find it's quite a privilege to go into somebody's home because it's quite personal what you can get into in a home and houses, and people just fascinate me.

"So every job is like a new excitement or like a new adventure really," Michele says.

Recently the 'new look' Sanctuary was officially opened with a spectacular Fire and Drumming Ceremony.  It was a fantastic evening and a wonderful experience to relax around the huge open fire (built next to the Sanctuary) with fantastic people and listen and be present to the sound and energy of the Pow Wow Drums.  I would like to thank everyone who attended and helped join in the fun and celebration.  Special thanks to Master Alex Lim, Nick, Susan, Kris, Kim, Alice, Ann-Charlotte, Peter, Lynn, Chaz and Toon.

There really is something simply majestic and captivating about a large open roaring fire and taking advantage of this cold weather I have organized a wonderful evening of Fire Meditation around the open fire to be held on Friday the 6^th August at 7pm at the Sanctuary to meditate and be present in the energy of the flames and light. Further details are below under Meditation.

In this month's newsletter, I felt compelled to touch on the subject of 'giving from unconditional love'.  From a personal perspective and my own experience and journey with Tantra, unconditional love is an essential ingredient to the practice of Tantra as well as the balanced blend of giving and receiving.  Quite often 'giving' comes with an agenda whether it is subconscious or unconscious, a want, hope, desire or expectation behind the intent.  Karma Sutra states 'you cannot make love if you don't become love'.  To start practicing unconditional love is to let go, giving from the heart of compassion not only to yourself and your partner but to all life and life's experiences.  The more we become unconditional, the closer we become to 'freedom' and this is the core ingredient to the practice of Tantra.  Below is an ancient Taoist saying that I believe is the perfect description of giving without agenda or expectations and coming from the space of 'unconditional love'.  It is through giving and compassion that wisdom is born.

"Know yourself and you will know others"

"Ultimate giving leads to ultimate harmony and contentment"

"Giving ends with the act of giving.  Do not attach yourself to the responses of giving, just know in your heart you gave freely and without attachment"

"The heart of compassion is treating and giving to others without attachment to self, with the understanding that you gave what the other needed"

In other news I am currently studing the ancient practices of the 'White Tigress'.  "White Tigress refers to a female who allows the natural workings and forces of sensuality to achieve beauty, youthfulness, longevity and immortality" His Li - White Tigress / Green Dragon.  Her sexual practices all derive from the teachings passed down through ancient Taoists.  A few months ago I was very blessed to receive TAO, a once in a lifetime gift in a beautiful and grand ceremony performed by the Tao Grand Master and since this experience and initiation I have been drawn to the amazing and beautiful practice of Tao.  It is an amazing journey and one that is not only sacred to my own spiritual growth and practices but also that in walking and living my passion and dream of sharing the gift of Tantra.  I am now offering the White Tigress massage AN MO to clients at the Sanctuary.  An Mo is an ancient pressing and rubbing technique for relaxing and strengthening Muscles and Joints.  During the massage, heat and movement of qi increases as well as blood flow which stimulates sexual energy (ching) which then moves and flows through the muscles and joints causing the spirit (Shen) to awaken.  An Mo is an experience like no other and certainly one you will never forget!

And lastly, I have recently viewed the new Tantra for Couples DVD and I am absolutely thrilled with the footage and it is truly a fantastic instructional DVD and the guys from Procopy have done a spectacular job.  The editing is nearly finished and I am happy to say the DVD should be on target for release worldwide either late August or early September.

Namaste and welcome to another month at the Sanctuary.,

The Sanctuary has been busy these past few weeks renovating a large studio at the back of my property which will officially be the new premises of the Sanctuary of Tantra and used for private sessions, workshops, meditation and women and men's Tantra circles.  The space is incredibly private and tranquil with lots of magnificent trees giving off their good 'chi' energy.  Privacy is a must in the teachings of Tantra and I have found it quite difficult to find that space up until now.  The studio over looks land with some beautiful horses that quite often come over for a ' hello and inquisitve look' at all the comings and goings not to mention the birds, chooks and the Rooster George!  Yes it is certainly becoming a little place of natural paradise!  The building will be full of relics, ornaments and wall hangings from India and China in keeping with the theme of Tao and Hindu Tantra. 

Many thanks go to all the people who have supported this huge project and who willingly gave up their time and energy to have the studio ready in time.  A very special thank you must go to Nick and Brad who have worked tirelessly with the painting amongst lots of other important jobs.  Another special thank you goes to Toon from meditation for laying the wooden floors as well as designing and creating an amazing outdoor fire place with lots of quaint wooden benches to go around for the Fire/Blessing Ceremony.  Another big thank you goes to Kris, Susan, Chaz, Danny, Alice, Bev, Leah, Carlo, Ann-Charlotte and Jo.  Susan and Kris are designing a one of a kind "Lingam and Yoni Garden" (yes there are plants that look like a penis and vagina!) with once again keeping to the theme of Tantra and I am so excited and impressed with this amazing idea from Susan that I am sure it will only be a matter of time before the garden will be featured  on "Burkes Back Yard"! LOL

The filming of the new Beginners Tantra for Couples DVD has finally been completed and we were very blessed with lovely but freezing weather!  This has been an amazing experience for me and I am extremely excited at the release of this informative DVD which will be ready for sale within the next month.  The DVD will be available worldwide and there will be a special preview launch screening in August.  Full details will be advised within the next couple of weeks.  This DVD has been created as an instructional Tantra session for couples.  It's just like having your own private Tantra session with me in the privacy of your own space. I would like to say a huge thank you to my wonderful friends, Peter and Lynne from the Quiet Cone in Parkeville for allowing us to film the DVD in the magnificent and tranquil setting of the Cone.  Partly surrounded by the Jane Brook (which is now flowing) and nature in all its beauty and purity, this was the perfect setting to create the space of Tantra.  There is also footage during the movie of the Cone and Peter playing the magnificent Gongs!  I would also like to say another huge thank you to our leading stars, Dantra and Dianne, who have been an absolute blessing in my life and especially for being incredibly brave in participating in the DVD.  They are the ultimate Shiva/Shakit! and even through the cold weather and a whole day of filming, they never complained once.  What great sports!  And lastly, another huge thank you must go to Mark Whitehouse, Director of Procopy and Steve Ramm, Editor of Procopy for their expertise, guidance, patience and professionalism with this project.  Thank you so much guys! I am sure the experience taught you a lot about Tantra!

In other news, the Sanctuary is expanding to Brisbane!  My wonderful Goddess Sister Paula who I have known for many years is taking the Sanctuary's teachings to Brisbane and setting up 'The Sanctuary of Tantra' for sessions and workshops over there.  It is a wonderful opportunity and certainly a journey that is starting to truly evolve and spread the word and sacredness of what I believe Tantra to be.  Paula will be featured in the August Newsletter so if you know anyone in Brisbane, please be sure to pass on this exciting news.

Lastly, for those of you that don't know, we have just recently completed the four day Solstice which commenced on the 21^st June 2010, June Equinox - one of the 'four cardinal moments of the year' worshipped as the four most sacred days of the year by all indigenous cultures throughout history, including early western culture.   

During this time the White Lion Global Protection Trust issued a worldwide prayer of protection for Mother Earth that was united with Chief Arvol Looking Horse (Sioux elder and 19^th Generation Keeper of the White Buffalo prophecies) at his annual event of World Peace and Prayer Day.

As millions of gallons of crude oil contaminate our oceans in the worst human induced 'natural' disaster, a message has come through from the White Lion Ancestors: to unite our intention for the protection of Mother Earth and her most precious resource: Water.

If you feel inclined, it is never too late to sit in either meditation or reflection and send your intention of love and healing to our oceans and mother earth.

Men's Tantra Circle

Every Woman Expo

The Every Woman Expo is being held at the Perth Convention Centre on the 25th, 26th and 27th June 2010.   This is a massive three day event and last year there was over 12,000 people through the doors (men included). 

If anyone is interested I have a small booth booked at this Expo which I was really hoping to attend but unfortunately will not be able to attend due to way to many big projects on the go.  The booth is half paid for so all you would need to pay is the balance and you will not need to owe me anything for the deposit already paid. 

It's a fantastic opportunity and a fabulous Expo with something for every woman ranging from stunning jewellery, clothing to exotic sex toys! Lots of free giveaways, 100's of booths to explore and lots of entertainment.

Namaste and welcome to another month at the Sanctuary.

The Couples Tantra Retreat was recently held on the 15^th and 16^th May and was a fabulous weekend attended by fabulous couples!  Held at the beautiful Serpentine Retreat Centre, we were all blessed with perfect weather.  The weekend was packed with so many exciting Tantra concepts from Tantra philosophy, grounding, breathing, couples heart connection not to mention two wonderful special guest speakers, Master Alex Lim teaching Qi Gong and the TAO and Helen Frost, Australia's Leading Nutrition Educator.  I have no doubt that all who attended definitely had their "eyes opened" into the ancient practice of Tantra.  The core essence of Tantric practice is love, going to the heart of it and stripping away the veil of illusion, getting back to basics and simplicity and embracing what is REAL.  Love is real and sometimes in relationships we get so caught up in our negative thoughts of resentments and constantly being analytical that we lose focus of the truth of it all, that little word we call LOVE.  Love makes the mundane sacred so that it is nurtured, cared for and protected.  Love is the food that helps us grow producing a deep sense of connection and guiding us to reach heights beyond our normal limits.

Many thanks to the wonderful couples that attended who shared and created a safe container to  learn, love, laugh, cry  and connect.  I praise you all for stepping up into your power with the intention to strengthen your relationship.  Many couples commented to me that the experience of the weekend "saved their marriage" "opened their eyes to the truth" and I am continually in awe of the beauty and wonder that Tantra brings to people's lives.  I would like to say a very special thank you to my teacher, Master Alex Lim for his incredible wisdom and teachings of the TAO and QI GONG and for his amazing demonstration of CHI, proving that the life force of breath, creates core strength and energy within the human body.  It's that simple!  A special thank you to Helen Frost who informed us through her extremely powerful seminar the benefits of eating LIVE food versus DEAD Food and how vital it is for good health to start understanding that dead food kills and creates illness, low libido, low energy and that live food replenished and heals our cells creating abundant health and energy.  We were all in stitches with Helen's very comical demonstration of the importance of a good poo versus a bad poo!!! You can't get much more explicit and real than that!

A huge thank you to the Sanctuary's new Practitioners Susan and Nick who worked tirelessly to ensure the weekend ran smoothly and contributed their presence and wisdom into this very sacred space.  And lastly, another big thank you to my good friends Chaz and Danny for their help in bringing Master Lim to the retreat and lastly to Carl our Chef for his fabulous and delicious cuisine.

Hey Cathy, just wanted to thankyou again, the retreat was great....I am now practicing the White Deer at least 4 times a week and use the spiral one when I can.  I brought the Joi skin care products and really find that they are amazing because I have a very sensitive skin, and have really noticed the difference:)  I took alot of points from Helen Frost's talk and brought the 'Very Wellness' cookbook that Sue Bartoll had on sale and a couple of other heathy eating books that she was selling:)  I have now changed my diet and feel so much better from it:) 
 
So thank you again, this retreat really gave me a lifestyle change that I was also looking for:)

The study and practice of Tantra has been of great personal and professional benefit to me.  Through Cathy's easy to integrate teaching my husband and I have experienced deep connection that has healed us both individually and as a couple.  Studying to become a Tantra Instructor has added to my ability to be fully present for my clients as an Energy Healer and Meditation Facilitator. 

I am very interested in the deeper aspects of life and find great pleasure in sharing my understanding with like minded people who are ready to honour and cherish themselves as I have learned to do.  One of my passions is to spend time in my garden and grow fresh food which I love to transform into tasty healthy meals, for my husband, children and family.  I am interested in sustainability in all aspects of life and this includes the environment, my community, friends, family and me!  

I invest my time in intelligent, progressive and positive energy for the Planet. 

I believe that as a society we underestimate the transformative power of our creative life force (sexual energy), as this amazing force is the energy that created us and how we came forth into our world. 

Seeing an individual connect with their heart space to sense purity within themselves, and then see, feel and embrace this within their beloved is what Tantra has shown me, and continues to expand my heart space.  To share in the transformation of a couple through the practice and integration of sacred union is my greatest joy. 

Introducing Nick (Specialising in Women's Sessions and Women's Massage)

For a long time I've had a strong desire to help others on their  life's journey.  Massage is good but Tantra has shown me a way to provide a more complete nurturing and caring experience.  While all the senses come alive through Tantra my favourite sense is that of touch.  A touch or a caress when felt in the moment can be an amazingly powerful sensation. 

I am dedicated to my spiritual practice and incorporate into my life daily Tantra and meditation.

I am excited and honoured to be able to share with you a sacred space of safety and learning for you to be able to experience the wonder and ecstasy of Tantra with me.

Introducing Lynne (Specialising in Men's Sessions)

My spiritual journey has been ongoing throughout my life, starting in my 20's, but the real awakening was in 2001 with Reiki and understanding the Metaphysics of our bodies. From there my interest and learning have grown enormously with the need for self nurturing after raising 3 beautiful, now adult children, and running a very demanding business for over 20 years in Adelaide. 

I moved to Perth in 2007 and my interest and thirst for knowledge of Tantra was finally quenched with a women's Tantric workshop with the lovely Cathy. From there the understanding and empowerment and self discovery, sexually and sensually, has been wonderful and certainly self nurturing, ensuring the Goddess within me has blossomed and grown even more. 

I look forward to guiding others on their own journeys of self love and self discovery, to enhance their lives and relationships.

Introducing Leah (Specialising in Couple's and Women's Sessions)

I was raised in New Zealand by my Maori/Italian mum and Irish/German dad. I have been taught the spiritual ways of both my parents and for as long as I can remember I have been drawn to the 'unseen' side of life which I find fascinating. 

I love working with people and this has lead me to occupations that empower others and myself along the way. All of which brings me great joy and tremendous job satisfaction.  I am passionate about learning and sharing knowledge that brings more joy and freedom into our lives. 

I have been blessed with an amazing man to share my life with and after 20 years and two gorgeous kids; we are more in love than ever.  Learning tantra for us has been an exciting new journey that took our love, pleasure, communication and acceptance to a whole new level! 

To see deep into the heart and soul of another human being;  to see truth; to look  beyond the physical;  to see yourself and others for who we really are; to feel empowered, vulnerable,  beautiful,  sensual, and sexy; to feel and direct our sexual energy thru our whole body is our birthright. It feels like ecstasy and encourages healing. This is the gift of tantra which my beautiful friend Cathy has taught and inspired me to share.

Reconnective Healing and The Reconnection

Oh, tis such bliss to be a goddess!

The Tantra Goddess Retreat was recently held on the 16^th, 17^th, and 18^th April at the magnificient Serpentine Retreat Centre.  Twenty women from all walks of life gathered in Temenos (sacred space) to learn, grow, share, laugh and empower the sisterhood, a place of reconnection to the essence of the divine feminine.

We were joined by four dynamic guest speakers in fields relevant to the practice of Tantra on Organic Skin Care, Healthy Nutrition, Yoga and Sensual  Belly Dancing. 

Many thanks to all the special women who attended and not only stepped up into their power but contributed to the beautiful and sacred space that was created.  It was an honour to not only teach the gift of Tantra but to be in the presence of beautiful Shakti.

A special thank you to Melissa from JOI Pure, a Guest Speaker specialising in Organic Skin Care and the benefits of using chemical free products and educating us on the dangerous chemicals that are abundant in most skin care products today.  Another special thank you goes to Helen Frost, Australia's Leading Nutritional Educator for her incredibly powerful and humourous lecture on Health and Nutrition and the extreme importance that the role of nutrition plays on our sexual health.  Personally, I walked away from Helen's Seminar with a new consciousness and awareness in the foods we consume and also what we are feeding our children.  We were educated on the difference between 'dead' food and 'alive' food and also the importance of having a really good 'poo'!  Yes folks, this is certainly a seminar that NO ONE can afford to miss and will guarantee to have you in stitches at Helen's witty humour in turning the 'taboo' into the 'norm'.  Helen will also be joining us as a special guest speaker at the Couples Tantra Retreat in May.  Another special thank you to my dear friend Leah from YogaHealth for guiding us through a fantastic yoga session on stretching and breathing and the importance of the breath and moving and flexing our body every day.  Breathing is prevalent in the teachings of Tantra to be able to move sexual energy through the body into the brain for brain illumination (or in other words brain orgasms).  The Karma Sutra Manual States; your orgasm will only be as good as the way you breathe.  Leah regularly holds classes in Yoga and if you are interested, more details are published at the end of this newsletter under 'Interesting Sites'.

Tantra Goddess Retreat

Another special friend that I would like to thank is Alice for her inspirational and sexy demonstration in teaching us the art of Sensual Belly Dancing.  Belly Dancing is certainly not only fabulous exercise, but a fantastic way to open the 'sex chakras' and to really connect and bring out the goddess within.  I would also like to thank and acknowledge Alice for taking the role of 'Official Goddess Photographer' and her fabulous photography is very much appreciated by all.  And I cannot let the retreat go by without mentioning our Chef, Sue Bartoll and to thank her for working tirelessly in preparing delicious and healthy foods to sustain the goddesses much needed energy for the weekend!  And thank you to Stefi for giving Sue a helping hand and for spreading her amazing and infectious smile.  Sue is a wonderful cook and a Naturopath and regularly holds vegetarian cooking classes.  You can visit her website at www.suebartoll.com.au.

In other news, production of the Couples Tantra DVD is about a month behind schedule although production is now underway and the project is incredibly exciting.  Many many heartfelt thanks go to our leading stars, 'Dantra and Diane', as well as Peter and Lynne from the Quiet Cone for their incredible generosity and kindness for allowing this DVD to be filmed in the magnificent energy of the Cone.  Thank you also to Mark and Steve at Procopy who are filming the DVD and who have helped and advised me so much on this project.  Before embarking on this project, I had absolutely no idea how much work, energy and effort goes into the production of movies.  My hat goes off to all film crews, assistants, actors and actresses from around the world that put so much effort into this massive industry.

The Tantra Forum will definitely be available in June as well as the Sanctuary's new Practitioners and their profiles will be published in the June Newsletter.  The Sanctuary will also be at the 'Every Woman Expo' which will be held on the 25^th, 26^th and 27^th June.  Don't miss this fantastic event with over 12,000 people through the door last year and hundreds of stalls and booths to explore with lots of interesting products ranging from women's jewellery, through to erotic sex toys!

On a personal note I wish to thank everyone who has expressed well wishes regarding my son's depression.  I am pleased to say that he is improving steadily and we are concentrating on one day at a time and 'being in the moment'.

Master Alex Lim - QiGong

Leah Ferrarini - YogaHealth

Hi and welcome to another month at the Sanctuary.

Twenty years ago I embarked on the beginning of my journey with Tantra with a Guru named Shopan Chowdhury and continued to practice and study Tantra on a personal level until many years ago when I decided to teach professional Tantra part time, something I enjoyed immensely and it filled in my afternoons whilst during the day I was an Administration Manager for a large Steel Corporation.  Over time, my client base grew to the point that I had to cease my day job and started a career full time in teaching Tantra.  As the years went by, The Sanctuary of Tantra was formed through my passion, devotion and dedication to help people to the best of my ability, move forward and embrace their sexuality, create beautiful loving relationships and to celebrate the essence of all 'life'.  I truly believe that success is achieved through passion, discipline and a positive attitude.

Recently over the past few months, my 15 year old son has been battling severe depression.  It has been both a painful and challenging journey for me whilst at the same time learning the hard task of stepping back out of the chaos and insanity of the drama.  Depression is becoming so prevalent in our society and on the planet as a whole creating a crippling disease, one that ripples fear and devastation not only through families but the community as a whole.  I have spent so many years seeking and integrating knowledge through the teachings of Gurus', Swamis' and Masters and have during that time learnt many tools for the "tool box" so to speak but nothing has prepared me for the journey of depression with a hormonal teenager who not only thinks his mum is weird (because mum teaches Tantra) but does not want to learn or be taught any breathing techniques, meditation or other self help techniques as "it's just not cool".  I, for the first time in my life have beenfaced with something completely different and out of my league and as I learn to step out of the fear, I embrace the lessons and the decisions I have had to make to create clarity and peace, not only in my life but also in my work and in supporting and helping my son.

So I had to take time out to stop work and reflect, support and nurture not only my son, but myself and my family.  It was a decision that I had to push through my ego and pride allowing me time to reflect, ponder and be.  That decision eventuated into an understanding to the point where I said to my son the other day "I love you, I am here for you to support you anyway I can, but I can't do this for you" "you have to find some strength and look deep within your very core to start helping YOU".  Mikao Usui, the founder of the practice of Reiki as we know it today, healed so many beggars, sick people etc on the streets of Tokyo back in the late 1800's.  It wasn't until he started seeing the same people back on the streets after he healed them that he realized there and then "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink".  Through my life and especially teaching Tantra, I have come to a deep understanding that everyone of us has a journey, lessons, karma whatever you may like to call it and as a teacher, mother, sister and lover I have come to the place of no judgment as all of us are on that journey, searching and working through our stuff and everybody has a story to tell like the story I am telling now.  I have chosen to step away from the fear of possibly losing my son to such a debilitating disease, instead I have moved into a space of strength and determination to honour him for where he is right now and to be there in every loving and supportive way a parent knows how.

The art of Tantra is "the science of self transformation" and I live by what I preach.  Breathing, meditation and grounding for core strength and vitality is essential to the practice of Tantra and has helped me immensely through this very difficult time.  As a Tantra Practitioner, I see so many people who come to learn Tantra for so many diverse reasons from "desiring to have a great sex life" to achieve amazing orgasms" or to simply connect with their partner and themselves on deeper levels.  For some, they are single and want to learn the skills to attract an amazing partner into their lives, for others they are in loving relationships but there is no or little intimacy.  Other people have fantastic "sex" but no commitment, heart connection, trust, respect and monogamy.  For most people they want the "icing on the cake" but few are prepared to find time to "MAKE THE CAKE"!    Breathing, meditating and grounding everyday even if it is only for five minutes creates self discipline and self discipline is the key to SELF LOVE.  If you desire to have a great sex life or relationship or a successful business for example, THEN be prepared to DO THE WORK and make the cake!  The Karma Sutra Manual states; "your orgasm will be as good as the way you breathe".  You may at times feel as though you have fallen into a black hole through life's ups and downs but with core strength behind you, you will find "you will become like the dolls with the round bottoms" you go down but you get up, dust yourself off and keep moving ahead.

One of my favourite inspirational people of all time is Thomas Edison.  Life magazine named him the number one man of the millennium.  He invented 1,093 new inventions during his life time, totally outstanding work in anyone's terminology.  People credited his ability with genius but he was once quoted as saying"Genius is ninety nine percent perspiration and one percent inspiration".  Edison was the inventor of the incandescent light bulb, never one to give up; it took him ten thousand tries to find the right materials to create the light bulb.  He never saw these as failures; rather he saw them as ten thousand steps closer to the solution.  Edison once said "many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up".

Edisons' amazing positive attitude can be seen in a tragedy he faced in his late sixties.  He built a famous lab in West Orange, New Jersey that was over three times the size of a normal football field.  Edison loved the place and was even reported to have slept there on the lab tables at times.    But on a December day in 1914, the lab caught fire and as he watched it burned he is reported to have said "kids, go get your mother, she'll never see another fire like this one".  Most people would have been crushed, but not Edison.  He rebuilt the lab and kept working for another seventeen years.  He was truly an inspiration to human kind of the power of maintaining a positive attitude.

Another amazing and inspirational person I know who is a wonderful and dear personal family friend is a man named Dave Barr.  Dave lives in Bodfish California and is in his late 40's.  Around the age of 25, tragedy struck when a landmine went off in Angola and he sustained life threatening injuries and as such had both his legs amputated.  After undergoing countless operations, skin grafts etc he was told he would never walk again.  But with sheer grit and determination "Dave found false legs" and started his healing journey.  Dave had a dream, and that dream was to travel the world and show people the power of a positive mind.  Nearly everyone told him he was "crazy and stupid" but nothing would deter him.  He wanted to prove not only to himself but to the world that "anything is possible and NEVER give up on your dream" so he embarked on a dangerous journey of riding around the entire world on his beloved Harley Davidson.   He then rode from the tip of France, right across Russia on the Ice and his third ride was from Shark Bay to Byron Bay Australia including Wilsons Promontory to Cape York and he called this trip "The Southern Cross".  All these trips were done alone with no backup, a five dollar tent and a jacket from the op shop.   He told me once about his trip across the ice in Russia and how every morning his engine oil was frozen and he had to use a kerosene heater to heat up the engine before it would start!  I said to him it must be of been freezing and he agreed but was thankful that his "feet never got cold"!  He did the trips to inspire others and raise money for his favourite charity the Cheshire Foundation (limbless victims of war).  Dave told me he has to been to places in the world that very few people have ever seen, some places are the most breathtaking beautiful sights beyond imagination and he believes he would not have survived some of the most rugged outback in the world if it wasn't for faith and sheer strength and determination and a positive mind.  He is truly one of the greatest inspirational people I have ever had the pleasure to know  and as such now holds two Guinness Book of World Records for his trip across Australia and Russia and his Harley Davidson proudly sits in the Harley Davidson Museum World of Fame in America.  Currently he travels the world conducting inspirational seminars and you can read more about my amazing friend at www.davebarr.com.

I have had the pleasure of working with and knowing so many wonderful people in my career, people with talent, people with dedication, people with integrity and people with that 'wow' factor but seldom do I see all these qualities in one person.  I am currently training new practitioners who will be joining the Sanctuary in May and can personally vouch that these amazing teachers have all these qualities and more.  As a wonderful friend recently said to me "Cathy, you have built a 'McDonalds' and have been running it by yourself" (no wonder I have been so exhausted!).  So I have great pleasure in announcing that "the cashiers and cooks" (Bev, Leah, Lynne and Susan) will be joining me in May to hopefully cook you up a feast and you can read their profiles in the edition of the May Newsletter.

Sandy's Signature Styles

Sandy is a large lady who has been making her own clothes most of her life, because she found it impossible to find clothing that was colourful, youthful, fitted well and did not cost a fortune.
Later she began making costuming for her belly dance students, again because there was just nothing available locally (you had to go to Egypt).
People would approach Sandy in the shops and ask where she got her clothes from, so she decided to put herself out to the public.
Everything Sandy makes is made to measure.  You make an appointment to see Sandy, and she takes your measurements, discuss styles and fabrics, and then when Sandy is finished or you need a fitting, she will give you a call.
Sandy particularly likes working in stretch fabrics, because of comfort and ease of care (lets face it, who wants more ironing?)
Sandy has developed several signature pieces, but is open to whatever you are looking for.

Hi and welcome to another month at the Sanctuary.

It has been a very busy month with moving into new premises, production of the new DVD 'Beginners Tantra for Couples' and the new addition of a 'Tantra Forum' which will be up on the website approximately mid April.  The forum will be the first of its kind, designed for members only and will be an opportunity to talk and meet with like minded people who are on a similar path with Tantra.  A 12 month membership also entitles clients to a 10% discount off all sessions, workshops and massages and practice videos will be available for download on a monthly basis. 

In other news, I am proud to announce and would like to extend a very warm welcome to Bev, Lynne, Leah and Nick who will be joining the Sanctuary as Tantra Practitioners within the next couple of months.  Also check out our new Photo Gallery where photos will be posted each month.

Tantra is the art of 'self transformation' learning to intergrate the healthy masculine and healthy feminine and through my experience and journey with Tantra, I have realised a very simple way to explain to the Western world the true essence of sacred sexuality. Imagine you have a beautiful healthy plant, that plant depends on you to water it so it can survive and continue to thrive, we water and fertilise that plant and in essence we are 'feeding' that plant. Tantric lovemaking is a similar concept.  In the moment when you make love, you are 'feeding' your partner unconditional love from the heart centre. Love in its purest essence is pleasure, happiness, energy and healing. Every one of our cells in our body feels this energy as love and pulsates with energy and vitality.  There is only love or fear, negative or positive in this universe.  So imagine connecting to this type of energy and the benefits you both will receive. Sex is not just a genital connection and or sexual release gratification. It is LOVEMAKING, euphoria in its highest form connecting the physical, emotional and spiritual through the heart centre. 

If you can imagine just for a moment that amazing feeling and sensation (that we all know so well) just before an orgasm and imagine being able to sustain that 'feeling of ecstasy' for long periods of time before orgasm occurs.  This is the dance of Shiva and Shakti.   In Hindu mythology sexuality is everywhere.  The Hindu god and goddess ' Shiva and Shakti' are continually making love and sexuality was considered sacred and a celebration of life.
